Young Sheldon: Season 7 – Everything You Should Know

Young Sheldon continued the memorable legacy that The Big Bang Theory left behind. Not that it continued it by moving the story forward, but by looking back on the early life of fan-favorite Sheldon Cooper. The show is still going strong, with Season 6 ending last May 2023, and is now awaiting a seventh season.

Luckily, Young Sheldon was renewed for Season 7 back in 2021, when it was given a three-season renewal. Typically, a new season drops every fall, but we’re nearing it, and we’ve still yet to get snippets of Young Sheldon: Season 7. What’s taking so long? Here’s everything to know about Young Sheldon: Season 7.

When Will Young Sheldon: Season 7 Be Released?

Sadly, Young Sheldon: Season 7 has no official release date. On more unfortunate news, Young Sheldon: Season 7 is indefinitely delayed due to the ongoing strikes from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Some cast members even directly supported the strikes, with Lance Barber, Raegan Revord, Zoe Perry, Iain Armitage, and Wallace Shawn joining the protests.

Due to this, several films and TV shows’ productions have been halted, forcing CBS to revise their fall TV schedule. As long as the strikes continue, Young Sheldon will also be put on hold, but expect production to resume when the writers and actors reach a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Will The Cast Return For Young Sheldon: Season 7?

While an official cast list hasn’t been revealed yet, the main cast will likely reprise their roles for Young Sheldon: Season 7. This includes the Cooper family, namely Iain Armitage as Sheldon, Zoe Perry as Mary, Lance Barber as George Sr., Montana Jordan as Georgie, Raegan Revord as Missy, and Annie Potts as Meemaw. Jim Parsons is also expected to return for his narrations as adult Sheldon.

You can also look forward to other side cast, such as Emily Osment as Mandy McAllister, Wyatt Matt Hobby as Pastor Jeff Difford, Craig T. Nelson as Dale Ballard, and many others.

However, there were talks regarding Season 7 being the final season for Young Sheldon. If this becomes true, the show may head toward specific plot points that need to happen, such as Sheldon’s dad passing away and Sheldon relocating to California. It was revealed in The Big Bang Theory that all of this takes place when Sheldon is 14 years old, so it’s only a matter of time before you see them happen.
